Charles Snowden Fairfax could have been the Tenth Baron of Cameron. Instead he settled into the area and the town that grew there took his name.
Fairfax was shaped by the railroad; enjoyed a musical tradition that included Irving Berlin, Nelson Eddy, and Van Morrison; became known as a hippie town; and was home to both the Mountain Bike and the alleged Taliban John Walker Lindh. "Only in Fairfax" is more than a slogan.
Let the Baron guide you through the town! The cartridge has been tested on a Pocket PC, Garmin Colorado, and the iPhone wherigo app.

The Fairfax Theater is always a good place to start. But then again there is parking closer to the first stage of the cartridge. It can be walked, but you may want to either drive or bike between some of the zones.

I struggled with this one in December 2012, but it seems the cartridge has been fixed a bit. However, there was one stage where I had to make 6 guesses at an answer (day of the week) since the answer was not to be found. Papa EGTH was with me and he had completed this Wherigo on his own some months ago and confirmed the answer was missing. I was frustrated by trying to find access to the final. It would have been helpful if the cartridge gave the name of the street we needed to be on so we wouldn't have gone driving up narrow streets that turned private.

I started this fun little adventure after my car left me stranded in Fairfax one evening. I didn't have time to complete the tour and find the cache til a couple weeks later. It was definitely the most fun I've ever had waiting for the tow truck! It was a fun and easy tour - especially since I was already very familiar with Fairfax. The cartridge got stuck on a couple screens, but nothing major, and I was able to find the cache easily. I was not able to get a completion code if there was suppose to be one. I thought I may have missed something and went back to see if there was another step, but the only thing I think I missed was one 'location' that disappeared whenever I got close to it, and only showed up as a location when I was about 100' away. Thanks for putting this together! I'm definitely going to have to check out more wherigos.

My wife and son (Geoknits and Geo*Scout) spent the day touring this Fair Town of the local Baron and just had a wonderful time. Our Oregon 550t worked flawlessly and I couldn't have been more pleased by the whole experience. Thank you for putting so much work into this cache and for helping make a our family afternoon together even better Erickson!

I invited the wife along for the Bud Flout adventure. After grabbing lunch we headed off to Fairfax and started the Wherigo. As always......if I can screw it up, I did. I have never wondered around this little town. Interesting sites and stories.
Lots of history in Fairfax I did not know about. The Colorado did shut off lots of times, glad we have 2 of them. We met up with Erickson and chatted a bit then off to the final.
Thanks for putting this Wherigo together.
