About This Cartridge

This cartidge will take you on a tour of historical areas in our beloved city, Grand Rapids, MI.You will be guided by Louis Campau. Louis Campau, is the official founder of Grand Rapids.

In 1826, he built his cabin, trading post, and blacksmith shop on the east bank of the Grand River near the rapids. Campau returned to Detroit, then came back a year later with his wife and $5,000 of trade goods to trade with the native tribes.

Follow the directions that you are given on the different screens. Each of the zones will be asking you questions. Answers will be found somewhere inside of the zone. Beware, there is a twist at the final! (GC1A4QX)

Starting Location

This cartidge starts you out near Civic Theatre off of Division Ave.

This was a great cartridge. I loved learning all about GR. Some of these areas, I didn't even know existed. Thanks for a fun WIG. When the final is back up and running, I will head out and make the find.

We finished this one in the rain. But it was very enjoyable.

I was downtown today and was able to get through all the zones of this one using an iPad. Once at the final, the final twist stumped me for a few minutes. Then the final coords didn't stay on screen long enough to view them. Fortunately, a video of the screens was able to be made with a smartphone and they were captured, and the cache found.

This cartridge taught me a lot about the city of Grand Rapids and its History, what a great way to learn! I really enjoyed completing this game. I even found a bust of Abraham Lincoln that was not on the tour, but I happened to drive by, never knew it was there, before.
Thanks for a great and informative tour of the city.
