This wherigo is part of the Lehigh Valley GeoCachers Geo Park. What is a GeoPark? Several members of Lehigh Valley Geocachers volunteered to hide interesting and unusual caches in a small, concentrated area. We call this zone a “GeoPark.” If you plan your caching just right, you may qualify for a “One Busy Day” cache. Enjoy!

About This Cartridge

This wherigo is a part of the Lehigh Valley Geocacher?s GeoPark. It is designed to take you on an educational tour of the Lehigh Valley Canal area. Be sure to read the question carefully or face some additional challenges. Completing this Wherigo can help you in completing the "One Busy Day" Challenge. At each zone you will need to answer questions in order to unlock the next zone. There is nothing too hard on this one but if you mess up the game may make you pay. Please be sure to park in a legal and safe spot and be aware of traffic and your surroundings! This cartridge is related to geocache # GC3BARN And will lead you to a micro size container just off the trail in the woods!

Starting Location

This cartridge is located in Hugh Moore Park. Follow 25th Street just before the brige going over the river there is a small road to your right, there is a sign for the Canal Boat, follow these signs.

Wow … this was quite a Wherigo. Never played such complicated one before. Answers were sometimes very hard to find. Anyway the park is wonderful and it’s an very interesting history lesson. Thanks for the Wherigo 🙏😎

A great day for the park, and what turned out to be an interesting Wherigo! Had to take a guess here and there, but managed to get through it. The mules were out today as well. Man, they are big mules!

Weather was amazing this weekend. Decided to come to HMP today and did our first WIG and grabbed all the trades here! Was a lot of fun and my, this park is lovely! Just need to come back for the Adventure Lab and we’ll have all smileys (except for the ones on the island...maybe someday!)

Going for the "One Busy Day at the Geopark". Didn't do the whole park but it sure felt like it, (I need a bike LOL).
This is my first Whereigo and it was one of the best adventures I've had yet!
I learned so much. Who would have guessed all the different things that were here. It doesn't look like it would fit but I guess if you got rid of the trees it would.
I started using the Oregon not understanding how this would work. Well that was quickly answered. just follow the GPS until the batteries run out. Ugh. Hooray, I was saved by the android! Yes I already downloaded the cartridge and began again. Luckily I wasn't that far away from the start. It worked great, without a hitch.
Thank you for introducing me to a new cache experience. I will defiantly do more of these.

I definitely feel like I earned this smiley. Right from the beginning I kept having to restart because I kept getting an error message, something along the lines of "can't be played in virtual mode." Not sure how I fixed that but on take four or five everything ran smoothly. I elected to just walk the whole thing (or I just didn't read the waypoint descriptions) since it was a nice day. Then I got to zone 4 (I didn't read any previous logs either) and was able to solve it with some googling. Glad there were no penalties by then. Then there was the cache itself. Even with the spoiler pic from the cartridge, it took me about 20 minutes of aggravation to come up with it. I would get a reading of 10 feet or less only to have it bounce to 40 a few seconds later. Finally decided to try the other side of the creek and spotted it in about a minute. Of course I also had to break out the tweezers for the log. Glad I was persistent on this one.

The last time I was here, I was probably 11 or 12 on one of my dad's Sunday excursions. I definitely didn't appreciate the museum or my dad's fascination with the canal workings then, but after reading all those markers closely today I think I understand.
