This Wherigo is designed to let you have a wander around Leigh Woods and at the same time see some of the local wildlife and finding geocache GC1JVRE. There is no set route, so it is a case of getting out there and seeing what (and who!) you can find. Its our first Wherigo, so comments, problems and suggestions are welcome.

About This Cartridge

This Wherigo is set in the Leigh Woods, above the Avon Gorge in Bristol, UK.  Ultimately the aim is to find a Geocache (GC1JVRE), but firstly, it involves going for a walk through the woods and generally enjoying the woods and its views.  The start location is the North Road entrance to Leigh Woods (see map)

Unfortunately, not all is well, help the warden restore the peace and tranquillity to the woods so that all may enjoy it.

Note: The Wherigo has been designed with large locations so that as long as you occasionally get a signal in the woods, you should be able to complete the quest.

The Wherigo has only been tested on the Garmin Oregon and the builder. I've found it best to stand still while viewing screens. Some screens may take a few seconds to appear. It doesn't have any anti-cheating in it to prevent you finishing the wherigo, so that players who will have no chance of ever getting to Leigh woods can give it a go.

Starting Location

The first location you need to be at is North Road enterence to Leigh Woods.  If you start anywhere else, you're first task will be to get there.

Parking at N 51 27.254, W 002 38.491

My first WhereIGo.

Used WhereYouGo on Android (with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4). Surprised to only use about 30% of battery over the course of 2 hours or so, but the Note 4 does have a big battery.

All seemed to work ok, even if the map was confusing at times.

This wig we started with problems - we walked on and nothing happened... After a while we decided to return back to the start and try again. And this time we've been luckier, everything was working well and we did a fantastic walk through the woods to collect a few new friends. Due to less time we ended up after finding the necessary amount of animals. Finding the final box took ages but just as we wanted to give up we finally found it. Thanks a lot for this really nice walk and finding lots of animals!

This was only my third ever wherigo. I pulled up at the start point and realised that I hadn't downloaded the cartridge. Doh! So I drove to the motorway services, downloaded it on their free wifi, and drove back to the start. I couldn't convince the stoat or the squirrel to help me but the other animals were very obliging! Thank you for a pleasant walk and a lovely view on the way round!

Loved this Wherigo from start to finish (although the stoat was very stubborn). Great theme, great story and very well put together.

Great fun, lovely woods, brilliantly combines with 'The Colour purple', enjoyed it immensely.
