We needed some extra guidance for one of the stages. An interesting location.

Set off today with Over21UKto do our very 1st Wherigo cache, I'd seen this when it went live, but I'd previously not been able to get this to load up on the Oregon, after deleting all the underscores in the file name and shortening it, it decided it would work.
We were soon stood outside the pub, the starting point, and the garmin displayed a couple of items, must admit I had no idea what to do. PAF to the snappers, and was informed of the last location they visited before finding the cache, this didnt help as you need to visit the locations in order. So we went back to the start, I ended up stood in the beer garden, dont know where Over21UK went, but that didnt help either, hada flash of inspiration, and I read the cache page, which gave me an idea on what to do.
At the second location a couple more items were collected, and then to the third location for a couple more items, and a chat with "mikeg", at the fouth location, the "evil billy rover" chose to steal our food, but in exchange pointed us towards the cache (would have liked some co-ords at this point, as the wherigo app on the gamin just gave an arrow and a distance, luckily Over21UK's Iphone displayed some co-ords which are easier to follow on the gps)
Arrived at the cache location, and both the gps in "map mode" and "wherigo mode" pointed to the same point, who should rear his head at this point but "steviep", and in exchange for a magic key, provided us with a hint (should have kept the key, as the hint sent me off in the wrong direction). Luckily Over21UK found the cache after a short search
Thanks for an enjoyable couple of hours, and educating us in whereigo, funny thing was that we now understand the significance of the items we collected along the way

We decided to call in here while in the area (ish) for a university open day.

Luckily we had read previous logs so knew this was a bit different to most other Wherigos we have found.

Pleasant walk around the village and a quick find at GZ

Although I have completed this cartridge, I had to use Eddie Robinsons unlock code to register as completed. Enjoyed the cartridge even though I wasn't sure what I was doing (1st wherigo)

I had some trialware software on my PC that let me do Wherigo caches and it was going to run out tomorrow. Emailed the cache owner to get the cartridge (thank you very much Billyrover) last week. Having done the two local Wherigo caches and found them very enjoyable I wish there were more around, I can understand why people don't do them as not many people have the hardware required. I hope the developers get an iphone player sorted out, I bet a lot more people will do them then. Anyway had a nice walk round Elsecar with the wife and dog this evening. Found the cache in good order took a copy of the Ivy Density map for my own use
