About This Cartridge

A little wander around Singleton Lake, or an adventure in outer space. the choice is yours.

STOP PRESS.... There have been problems reported by people doing thise Wherigo who have used Garmins. Problems in that three quarters of the way round it crashes.. I have no idea why this is... all I can say is that it *does* work on my Android phone and Android tablet.

Starting Location

This Wherigo starts at the mission briefing centre on the USS Badger. or at the car park at Singleton Lake, depending on your personal perspective....

Started off well with the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S4 but at the scrap yard the iPhone seemed to draw a blank and it wasn't clear how to continue so we carried on just with the Samsung which worked perfectly. Enjoyed the walk in the late afternoon winter sunshine.

We spotted this new Wherigo soon after it's publication and decided on a spot of early Sunday morning caching as it was a lovely crisp and frosty yet bright morning (-5'C).

We managed to complete around 3/4 of the Wherigo and then had a problem with our Garmin Oregon 450T locking up at one particular stage. Despite numerous attempts at by-passing the issue nothing worked so we had to give-up on our mission and return to base. We e-mailed the CO and as always he was very prompt in responding and made a visit to check it out with his android phone and tablet.

After a little time we decided to try out the Wherigo with our own tablet which we had never done before and returned to the landing area only to spot the CO with his faithful companion. We then used his android phone to repeat the mission which was successfully completed. We were able to show him the issue we encountered in the scrapyard on the way around, which he said that he would investigate further.

Another great Wherigo mission from 'Sir Manky'.
