A multi-location adventure set in Northern Colorado Springs - based on the idea of Panning for Gold
You have come to Colorado to Pan for Gold. In 1858 gold was being panned in Denver. In this story, you will pan for gold in Colorado Springs.

This was our first WhereIgo. It took us a little time to figure out what we were supposed to do. We did the tutorial on the Oregon first and then we did The Pikes Peak Gold Rush. It was very interesting once we got the hang of it. Thank you for creating this cartridge. We had a little trouble finding the cache, but we did find it and signed the log. Thanks again!

Wherigo caches are so few and far between that we had to stop at this one while we were in Colorado Springs for the week. We have learned that it can be thunderstorming on one side of the city and clear on the other, so we headed north out of the rain and had good prospecting weather.
We were surprised to find no one else here panning for gold, but we weren't complainin'. We gathered all we could carry and cashed it in for the ultimate prize. Thanks!

Our first Wherigo. Quite an adventure. We were unable to find the restocking cache (Shark attack), but did find a black snake with yellow markings in its place. Luckily, I was leading the way instead to DJ or he may have stepped on it.

I have been wondering what I have been missing, but was not willing to invest in a Colorado or Oregon just to accomplish the WIG caches. Still, every time I would drive by the starting point of this one or see the icon on the map, my curiosity would build a little bit more. Then I recently saw that a Czech developer created a beta application called WhereYouGo for the Android operating system which runs my T-Mobile G1 phone. I downloaded the application and tried the tutorial yesterday.
This afternoon, I ventured out to find gold! It was a lot of fun for me and apparently a lot of fun for the folks who grinned at me wandering around with the beep-beep-beep sounding. The work in this area is complete but the place looks like it has been strip mined and most of the trees removed! Fortunately, the workers left plently of gold to be panned. After my fair skin was beginning to turn a shade (not golden), the journey to the final locations afforded much welcome shade. A special treat involved watching the Air Force Thunderbirds practicing.
I encountered no problems during the adventure, the cartridge and the program worked smoothly, but I was unable to unlock on the WIG website, since the Android WhereYouGo application saves the completed game in an incompatible format. I must venture out to try other WIG caches in the area before my beta stops functioning. Thanks for the clever and entertaining storyline and finally a smiley on a new cache type for me!

My better half, my dog charlie and my son Freakmanhere had fun on this new geocaching experience. This was our first one, and had a good time doing all the steps. I look forward to doing more Wherigos. Thank you for the fun geocaching adventure.
