A nice stroll round the marina area of St Hellier leading to a physical cache.

About This Cartridge

The second in the series of 'Don't Bring Your City ways Here' caches on the States of Jersey. City caches are typified by a great deal of back and forth walking (usually to get a signal), some undesirable areas, loads of muggles and a high degree of stealth required to grab a tiny container with a damp log and no goodies. Have a look at this cache and see how many of these factors apply to this one!

Starting Location

A non-descript starting place, in fact just a roundabout, but it is close to some facilities for you.

It's taken us 6 months, but then we didn't try to do it all on one day. All stages went well once we had found the locations, and we remembered the answer to the telescope stump stage.

We had to ask for a hint for the physical cache, as we were distracted by something in the cartridge to the effect of its being in a crevice in a rock face. It's not - the hint on the cache page may be more useful.

Great fun, if a little frustrating at times walking back and forth - but of course that was the point. It wouldn't be City ways without some of that.

"Let´s do this Wherigo Cache really quick. It sounds good and will show us some nice spots in the area". My assumption was right, exept for the "quick" part. Not only did we visit some stages before starting the cache but also the tide wasn't low enough to shortcut the way to the green light. And we found out about "Number 18" with brute force because I haven´t read it in the description.

We fighted our way from stage to stage and we finally made it. The weather was georgous and we had a blast with this Wherigo. I took us almost 4 hours. We used an iPhone 5 and it worked flawlessly but I haven´t figured out a way to upload our gws-file?!?

Thanks for the hide.

I really like wherigo caches, and we were pleased to see 2 on the island of Jersey

After a great event in the park, we decided to team up with TAG and Lime Candy to make a start on this one. We parked near the start and set off. we walked nearly all the way around the first zone and on our way we found PazaUK who joined us for part of this cache. After a glorious day the clouds had started to darken and it was trying to rain. We headed out and got the first 3 stages and arranged to meet up the next day at low tide for the second half of this game. We said goodbye to PazzaUk and made our way back to the car. TAG was taking us back to the park where we had left our car when we spotted the next stage of the wherigo. We parked up and jumped out the car. The required information was missing, so we all tried different answers until we guessed correct it was only later we realised this answer had been added to the cache listing page ..Duh!

By now the sun had come out again and the causeway was almost in full view, so it was suggested we had something to eat and try and complete this wherigo tonight while it was quiet and we had free parking

After refueling we set off onto the beach, we only had to paddle in a couple of inches of water for a very short section along the causeway, It was great fun. It was tricky getting into the zone here but we all did on our seven devices in the end
Once we arrived at GZ we had quite a search for the cache. TAG found it but the hint was a little misleading, the views have been great along our walk tonight and we all enjoyed this wherigo.

Many thanks for your hard work setting up this wherigo for us to enjoy today

We finished the route finding the cache and discovering the geocoin but the cartridge wouldn't accept the completion code.

I shared this experiance with simply paul and some pink bunnies on a fantastic sunny day with a lovely low tide. I was glad to finish this as it was my fifth attempt, the police tried to stop me on one occasion due to an irish conferance, the weather closed some paths on a windy day and someone stole the telescope! (that is back now but with no plate). Then I managed to wipe the whole lot off and had to start again!. Still nice to finaly get there and with some great cachers.
