About This Cartridge
This Wherigo cartridge takes you to a sight-seeing tour through Lauritsala. The Wherigo is part of geocache GC6MR7A.
Lauritsala gained independence from the municipality of Lappee in 1932. Where Lappee was predominantly agricultural, Lauritsala was industrial with the Kaukas factories and Saimaa canal. In 1967 both Lappee and Lauritsala were joined to Lappeenranta.
