A Wherigo adventure on the old Santa Susana Stage Road.

About This Cartridge

The year is 1867 and you are travelling from Los Angeles to San Buenaventura.

In the northwest corner of the San Fernando valley, the stage route is a steep trail cut into the mountain that is known as the devil's slide. It takes a team of four horses to drag the stagecoach up the slide. Coming down the slide is even more dangerous. Passengers generally get out and walk along this section of the road.

You will follow the old stage route as you collect the clues that will help you find the Secret of Santa Susana Pass (GC1RDJH).

Starting Location

Santa Susanna Pass State Historic Park - South Entrance

Really fun to explore the Santa susana pass

Dawg and her team had a really great time on this adventure. It was a bit irritating that we got killed (for reasons unknown) near the snake and tumbleweed and had to split up the team while we back tracked to get the gold again. There was no point in everyone walking all the way back. Come to think of it, if it were not for Bigrock95 leading the way, Dawg and her team would have given up at that point. The whole game confused Dawg and her team. Luckily Bigrock95 held our paws and made sure everyone took part in the game and therefore had fun.

I found this Wherigo to be both entertaining and fascinating. As our group of four: Team Min Dawg, Tom4props (a prior finder who joined his brother, the log's author) and Bigrock95 ascended the Devil's Slide, I was imagining what it would have been like to ride the stagecoach on its route to Buenaventura through the Santa Susanna Pass.

The creativity and effort put into designing the game cartridge enables the player to reflect on the perils and hardship of the west coast traveler in the late 1800's. We all enjoyed the interaction with the game and felt immersed in history.

The scenic terrain and the game made my visit to this park a very memorable one. Thank You tozainamboku for all your efforts. I will look forward to finding more of your caches.

Interesting info about the Stagecoach Trail. Some things are not intuitive. We had to start it a few times and get a hint from the owner to complete. We know this trail very well now. Hence the difficulty can be upgraded to a 3 or 4. Thanks for taking the time to create a interesting WherIGo. We did have fun!

First of all, this was my first Wherigo game experience and I had a blast.

The location that this cartridge is played out in is very familiar to me and I must say that for myself and MamaMia (who played the game with me) and our Belgian Malinois Pepper, this was a whole new way of hiking the Devil's Slide and Santa Susana Pass!

It was a whole lotta fun and brought the historical aspects of this great pass to life!

Being the first cartridge I've ever played, I have no other to compare it to but I would have to venture a guess that it rates high... I give it 5 stars!
