Construction at one site is limited access to information. The cartridge opening zone was expanded to allow Wherigo to function at a greater distance - VERSION 1.6. Make sure you have downloaded the cartridge released AFTER October 1, 2017

About This Cartridge

It is September, 1814 and the Battle of North Point is getting ready to start. We are going to retrace the steps and of the American and British armies during this pivotal engagement of the War of 1812. This cache will take you, up and down the North Point peninsula, on a 20-mile journey, that will follow the historic events that took place on those eventful days.

This cartridge was created for use with the “Battle of North Point” geocache. See GC Code: GC38ZWK.

For those who want to use a completion code to unlock the cartridge, once you finish the Wherigo, I hope to have that available in the near future. I was not sure how to build that into the cartridge and I am getting advice on how to put that in an updated version. In the meantime, once you finish the Wherigo, send me an e-mail and I will send you the information for an alternate way to unlock it or use the 'Upload your Save Game' option.

Starting Location

Near the Old Battle Ground Methodist Episcopal Church site

Went with my friend drobare. This is actually my old stomping grounds. Grew up within a quarter of a mile from the start (60+ years ago). This was a nice history lesson for the area. It was really fun until about two stops from the end when the WhereYouGo App on my android decided to quit working. It did apologize though. Dave had just told me it might be a good idea to save the game, but I hadn't. Anyway we finished up using just his GPSr. And we found the cache in the end. This was my first Wherigo cache and I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the fun history lesson. Played today with Cessna95A and we had a fun time learning the history. Found the cache at the end also. Saved my game but it won't upload to unlock.

Today Mrs. SeeKPeeKRs and I came to the area for the CAM event picnic down in North Point State Park. Being that we really enjoy getting out and trying to find different "icons" in geocaching we knew that we wanted to give this one a try. We arrived at the posted coordinates and began making our way around the area. Occasionally we had to wait at the various locations to "get into the zone" since we were using our iPhones to play the cartridge. But we eventually ended up at the right location. Thanks for showing us around.

This is a well-developed and very enjoyable cartridge to experience. It took 1-1/2 hours to complete. Living in Maryland this Wherigo gave us an opportunity to experience a present day march back in history to experience where the British soldiers marched, fought and died before they retreated back to the Chesapeake Bay.

I was reminded to unlock this cartridge because of recently finding another wherigo. I played this one the day it published and had fun with it.
