About This Cartridge
Founded in 1967, Fo Guang Shan is an international Chinese Buddhist monastic order that promotes Humanistic Buddhism and is known for its efforts in the modernization of Chinese Buddhism. It is the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan.
Immediately adjacent to the monastery is Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum. Comprising more than 100 hectares, the museum features eight pagodas, various exhibition halls, a jade shrine that holds tooth relics of the historic Buddha, and an enormous 108-meter-high seated metal Shakyamuni Buddha.
