This Wherigo will give you some interesting information about the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. It is part of the original Route 66. Enjoy your walk from Illinois to Missouri, 60 feet above the Mississippi River.
The bridge has been transformed into a public trail. Hours are from 9am to dusk, daily. It is managed by Trailnet.

We watched a convoy of restored military vehicles drive across the bridge. They were retracing Route 66. They had a special permit and a police escort. They were followed by a big pickup truck with a trailer in case someone broke down. An bonus to our fun hike for this WIG.
