About This Cartridge

Whack-A-Lackey UK! Remember those games you played in arcades? This game is based on Whack-A-Mole. There are three things you can whack in Whack-A-Lackey: muggles, forum moderators, and Groundspeak lackeys. Run to an area and whack the lackey before s/he disappears! Post your high score and its confirmation code to the cartridge page and compete! Needed to complete the Wherigo Geocache GC5EXNX

To get the final Co-ords for the Geocache you need to score 700+ on Lackey Level and play the game within 20 miles of published Co-ords (although harder, more points are awarded for each Lackey whacked!

This version has been adapted for UK use by kind permission of Ranger Fox

Starting Location

This cartridge needs an area the size of a soccer field at the most difficult level.

I found a secluded field south-west of Lynn Wood and stomped about, followed by a very confused Basil the JRT who's never seen me behave like that. I had three attempts but my highest score was my first: 475.
Like others, the Unlock Code didn't work and dropping the last character didn't help.

Having only obtained just over 300 points while running around the local park we came to Wakerley to find some caches. As the picnic area was empty I retried the cartridge there. The cartridge crashed quite a few times and wouldnt let me restart the game so had to start from beginging again. Eventually managed to get a decent score confirmation code and an unlock code but am unable to upload these and the unlock code wouldnt work. Tried it with the 15 digits as previous cacher mentioned but it still wont work, then the cartridge errored out again and wont let me restart so unable to find any details of cache co ords.

Ran around a supermarket car park in the dark, in the rain, in a gale!
Opted for the easier Muggle level and scored 355 points
On this site the cartridge unlock code (16 chars) would not work. I've encountered other cartridges that only want the first 15 chars so tried that and it worked.

But still unsure how to get the cache location. Hope it tells me that on the geocache page (I have a completion code)

Completed again as required so we could find the cache at the HH&CC mega....

Wow what a wherigo. We had been looking forward to attempting this one as we have been aware of the US one since it was written. The clocks going back used to mean an extra hour or so in bed, but oh no, not any more - It just meant there was more time in the daylight to inflict pain on ourselves attempting to Whack-a-Lackey. We managed to find some playing fields not far from our hotel to run around in. The park was quite busy with dog walkers and I think a few of them were a bit surprised when we appeared to be running straight at them at full speed only to stop dead and run off in a different direction . After an hour we had to call it a day as Mark's left knee was causing him severe pain and my hip was giving me grief so we headed back to the car having achieved a best score of 480. After a conversation with various people it was disclosed that the wherigo was possibly much more difficult than had originally been intended. We had been really keen to do this one properly but as we could prove we had made a significant effort the co-ords were shared with us.

I had a go and got a score of 975 on my first attempt. However the co-ords listed in the cartridge once 700+ points are achived are wrong they wanted me to travel some 3800 miles.
