8/24/2010 16:04 Found: Interesting place for the WhereIgo. Was a bit confused by a couple of things like the beacon. I really liked the handling of the arrows and distances during the whereIgo Section.
A small note if you are using a GPS that supports tracking I would suggest using the tracking but do not mark the waypoints as with my Oregon there were so many flags it was impossible to see the map. If you cannot use tracking then I would mark the waypoints and view them later.
I found the final to be off by about 8 meters and 8 meters in a direction I am glad I did not head. Overall an interesting concept and I'm sure a fair amount of work to create and an enjoyable way to spend some time and find a cache.

Following benh57's Mar 6th, 2008 post on using Wherigo with a PocketPC Emulator + Garmin 60CSX; I've mirrored his success.
This time I paired an Acer Netbook with a Garmin GPSmap76CSx. While benh57's technology roadmap was sketchy on details, it was an easy go for the most part. It was the 'tweaky' part at the end that took the most doing.

Anyway, I verified the job done with a successful FIND for GC20P5Y.
While it was a bit strange wandering around with a netbook, tied to a GPS in my pocket in that field; it worked. :))

It was great to have my first find of this type to be Waterloo's 1st wherigo. Thx to all involved :))

Played while out with the BFL crew.
We had fun playing this one and can only imagine what people were thinking.
Thanks for the fun.

I could have sworn I had tracking enabled but alas I discovered I didn't after I had completed the cartridge. I didn't have time to repeat it so I'll have to leave it for the next time I'm in the area.

Really enjoyed completing this cartridge. Very creative. Fortunately I had seen this challenge in an earlier cartridge and knew what to expect.

Well written and performed well. Thanks.

Downloaded this one yesterday when it first came out but didn't have time to play it.
We were doing some caching in Waterloo today and saw that it hadn't been logged yet so what better time than now to get it done.
Started making my path though the open field with University students walking by looking at me like I was on glue all the while Mrs.T was sitting off to the side looking all studious-like.
After 25min. we were done. Plotted the Co-ods and off to the cache.
It was nice to finally get a Wherigo closer to home and since I was using the same device it was created with I had no problems whatsoever with the stages or zones.

Thanks for the cool Wherigo.
