Cartridge is associated with Geocache GC1HQBM. Take a ride on the W&OD trail from Ashburn to Leesburg and back. Trail is open dawn to dusk.

About This Cartridge

Cartridge is intended to be done as a bike ride, but it could also be done on horse, inline skates, or even a long hike. Total distance is approximately 10 miles. Along the way, you'll be asked to answer some fairly easy questions. If you answer them correctly, the location of the cache will be revealed. Answer them incorrectly, and you'll have to start again. For more info, see geocache GC1HQBM.

Starting Location

Washington and Old Dominion Parking Lot near Ashburn Fire Station

Woohoo! What a great experience, both biking the WO&D on a beautiful spring day and the Whereigo cache. This was only my fourth attempt at a Whereigo, the first two were nearly perfect, the last one, a total whiff. This one also executed flawlessly, restoring confidence in the style. Made for a great mini-milestone at 1300. Only issue, not really a big deal, the unlock code was one digit too long and wouldn't unlock until I trimmed it. jeffnerner provided great assistance in solving that issue, as well as help speeding my return to GZ the day after to find a dropped cell phone. Thanks for the adventure!

For my 800th geocache find, I attempted my first Whereigo cache. It was quite the learning experience using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 and OpenWIG 0.4.1. Needed the guidance from the CO before I could understand the process of a Whereigo cache. Everything was working fine until I attempted to save my cartridge in the OpenWIG application, at which point, the application errored. Fortunately, I was able to continue using the CO's device. Great experience! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Had the day off, great weather, haven't been on the bike in a few years, so decided to give this a shot. Great exercise and was able to pick up another cache. I was not able to get the cache for this when I played it, but will be back to claim the smiley.

Had problems with my GPSr (Garmin Oregon), but managed to work through them.

This was my first Wherigo cache to complete. Itsmekellit and myself had a blast doing it! I wish there were more Wherigo caches published. Thanks so much for the adventure!

Completed 19 miles along the trail today. Got to the next to the final stage and the player reset. Had to go back and start over. No worries. Had some help on one of the stages, thanks Mike.
