Another amazing geocaching adventure is behind me, this time enriched by a truly special occasion – a GIGA event - **25 Years of Geocaching – Prague 2025**! This was my second event of this scale, and once again, it took place in the picturesque city of Prague. It’s been three years since my last visit, so I returned to this beautiful city with even more excitement. Over several intense days, we had the chance to explore the streets of the Czech capital, discovering new caches (and labs) and enjoying every single find.

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to the event organizers and cache owners – the amount of work put into making this event happen was truly impressive. Events like this are not only a great opportunity to find lots of caches, but also a perfect chance to meet fellow geocaching enthusiasts from all around the world.

The location itself was an extra highlight – Prague, along with the charming little towns we passed along the way, once again enchanted me with its beauty, atmospheric streets, and unique character. I'm really glad I got to visit it again on the occasion of such an extraordinary event.
Day one of our trip – we picked up some caches and labs along the way to Prague, mostly quick drive-ins. We also made a short stop in Jičín, and finished the day with an evening walk through the atmospheric center of Prague.

Day two – caching and lab adventures in the heart of Prague, especially around the Old Town. We explored the northern part of Hradčany, crossed the iconic Charles Bridge, and visited the GIGA event grounds. There we celebrated Switch Blue Day and found a huge number of lab caches popping up like mushrooms after rain.

Day three – the big day: attending the GIGA event! Unfortunately, server issues arose – clearly, the 25th anniversary of Geocaching brought in a massive crowd, which was noticeable in the app’s performance. In the evening, we enjoyed a riverside walk along the Vltava and picked up a few more caches.

Day four and final day – we started early with a morning cache hunt in Vrch Vítkov park, and then hit the road home. On the way, we visited the lovely town of Kolín and stopped by several service areas (MOPs) in Poland for some last quick finds.

Kupodivu jsem hru pořídil dohrát bez nějakého zádrhelu. Dost často u wiga tápu, co kde a kdy správně odkliknout. Tady to klaplo a úspěšně jsem došel do cíle. Díky za wigo.

Po mnoha letech jsem se rozhodla zkusit nějaké Wherigo a tohle bylo na ráně. Během jeho řešení jsem ještě posbírala nějaké vypočtené kousky v okolí, takže jsem si dělala drobné zacházky od nejpřímějších cest k dalším úkolům. Díky tomu mi hra trvala asi déle. Závěrečný poklad nalezen bez problému.
Akorát kód pro odemčení hry, který mi hra vygenerovala, nějak nefunguje.

Hlavním cílem dnešního výletu byl event Žižkův palcát - Vítkov. Ten jsme samozřejmě spojili s procházkou, během které jsme navštívili Kobylisy, PP Okrouhlík, Bulovku, Thomayerovy sady, Libeň, Rohanský ostrov, Karlín, Vítkov a Žižkov. Do trasy jsme zakomponovali i několik Earthkeší na zajímavých místech. Nakonec nás zjišťování odpovědí zdrželo víc, než jsme mysleli a na event dorazili jen taktak. CITO jsme bohužel nestihli. Dnes jsme tu nachodili 22,9 km a naše konto obohatili o 40 bodů. Hezky vymyšlené wherigo, na finálních souřadnicích jsme se potkali s geokolegou.
Děkujeme za pěknou keš.
