A quick tour of some of the historical neon signs along Colorado Avenue near the boundary between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.
About This Cartridge
Before the new Highway 24 was built in 1968, Colorado Avenue was the main road between Colorado City and Manitou Springs and, via Ute Pass, to points beyond. Motels and other services sprang up in this area to serve cross-country travelers and many of the original establishments still exist today.
This wherigo showcases six of the original neon signs. Some original, some restored, some working, some not working, but all historical!
Starting Location
The first 3 stops are very close together. It is suggested to park once and walk to these 3 stops.
We start at a vintage diner complete with jukebox, 1950s lunch counter vibe, checkerboard linoleum floor, and cash only!

Our motel is located on Colorado Ave just before the city limits of Manitou Springs. We played this Wherigo on a short evening walk. It was easy to answer the questions at the stages and thanks to the spoiler photo we found the cache quickly.
Thanks for this nice Wherigo.
