The Tattoine Incident

First (probably last) Wherigo. We used a Garmin 550T and got off to a good start, quickly locating Stage 1 before our GPS started crashing and resetting. This has never happened before whilst using this device to find normal caches - both frustrating and disappointing. Having read pages 1-6 at Stage 1, we noted the co-ordinates to Stage 2 expecting that we might have to input this information into the Garmin in order to navigate to the next stage. However, there was no option to do this other than for clicking on 'Found' (in the Actions' menu). We created a GPS waypoint manually using the co-ordinate shown in the report and set off for Stage 2. Between these two stages the GPS kept resetting, each time asking whether we wanted to 'Save' and then 'Resume' the game. We decided to abandon the Wherigo software and navigate in the traditional manner, quickly locating Stages 2 and 3. Overall, not our best day's caching but Tatton is a beautiful place to visit and has lovely landscapes and views over the lake. Lots of wildlife including deer. Parks shuts at 5pm (prompt) - current car park charge £5 (no concessions / NT members also pay)
