Well it’s been 3 days since we did a Wherigo cache, well actually ANY type of cache, so today we all headed down to The Spit in a quest to find the Holy Grail. Parked the geochariot in Avona Crescent, and then set off down the bush pathway to the starting locality.

After successfully chasing coconuts we set off on our journey to Camelot, avoiding the O class trams which used to frequent this cutting prior to 1939 (it’s actually the old Spit to Manly tramway route, with remains of the old track ballast still on the ground), until we were stopped in our tracks by the Black Knight. We managed to escape that encounter with a mere flesh wound, but then came the crossing of the Bridge of Death. We talked our way out of (across) that one, but then had to dispatch a wild & ferocious hairy beast, before finally completing our quest and sipping from the holy vessel.

After taking a sip we noticed an inscription in the bottom of the cup, which appeared to be a set of ye olde GPSr coordinates, so we entered them into our ancient device. This soon led us to a well fortified casket containing a bound parchment, which we stamped & signed, before replacing as found. There was also a clue for a future quest, which was duly noted. We took nothing but left an offering of some ye olde coinage, a vintage 1963 Australian Penny, to add to the treasures within.

Thanks Ralph, and your close friend Lord Tyreless, for yet another one of your excellent Wherigo caches, which has provided us with yet another fun family adventure at yet another nice harbourside location. Well worth yet another Favourite point from us. We’ll have to stop doing these Wherigo caches, as we are fast running out of Favourite points to give, and they are all so worthy of bestowment :)
