Another successful Wherigo completion
Having completed "The London Wall" Wherigo yesterday,we decided to extend our experience of the type and try "Maritme Greenwich".We did actually attempt this one some time ago but could not get off on zone one "Cutty Sark",and although managing a couple of other zones at the time, encountered numerous crashes and lost information.Today we were back with a greater determination but wih the same Oregon 300 for a more in depth try.
No problems with the start and zone one this time and each task seemed to flow very smoothly.I suspect the zonal areas have been widened as they seemed to not be as "tight" on positioning, and tripped off close enough to GZ without the "fussy feel" these Wherigo caches often have. Our first glitch was at Trinity Hospital where I had just saved and was in the process of restoring the cartridge to continue.A reboot and all was well again and on we went. The same error occurred at The Observatory where another fatal error and crash switched the Oregon off - after saving the zone.I'm fairly sure this is a quirk of this particular GPS type and not the cartridge,as from then on it ran perfectly. With a lunch break at the Greenwich Union,we then continued on to successfully visit the remaining zones (the roses in the top gardens smell glorious at present).
With the physical cache location revealed and map plus hint added to the itinerary,we homed in on the spot for a straightforward find of the well hidden container, covered in its very effective camouflage.
A very satisfactory end to this challenge in an area we know well and are always pleased to walk around. We completed the walk in a couple of hours but we had visited many of the locations before and therefore didn't get "sidetracked".Many thanks for this cartridge which certainly earns a favourite point and is a good recommended introduction to this type of cache as there is much to see in the area if it all goes pear shaped.Greenwich is a great place to be,for whatever reason.TFTC.
