Only my third attempt at wherigo; again with my Bluetooth GPS receiver/ HP Windows Mobile handheld combo. The cartridge played without a hitch. I completed most of the round in the pleasant company of Insp. Gadget, who had a Garmin Oregon. I noticed that the Oregon picked up the zones quite a bit earlier than my equipment, but other than that, the experience on the Oregon seems to be similar compared to my Pocket PC device.
Started out on a bright sunny day with fifinella and our kids, and ran into Insp. Gadget not too far from the starting point. He proceeded to the first zone on his bike while we continued to the third zone. Insp. Gadget caught up with us again later between zone 3 and 4, and to my pleasant surprise decided to dismount and continue with us on foot. I think we must have been assigned one of the longer routes; the kids got tired after a while and let the Insp. and me carry on without them at a point close to our home.
I'm well familiar with the area, which clearly helped find the way along the various zones. At the final, the container was quickly found, and we were happy to sign the blank log. Thanks for the cache & wherigo!
