The Tawny Scrawny Lion at Grandpas Pond

I wasn't up for a long hike today so we brought the dog back to his favorite park in the area for a walk around the lake. While I was here I decided to try this Whereigo cache. I've had mixed luck with these in the past so I was a bit wary. But it turned out to be a great time once I figured out some tricks in the Android phone settings that made it easier.
The hunt for the vegetables took me a few tries. When I tried to see all the navigation points on the map so I could do them more efficiently the app would crash. But when I tried to pick a point and navigate one by one, I ended up getting eaten. After three unsuccessful attempts I checked all the app settings and found two that helped. First I selected the no map option instead of the default selection. That solved the crashing problem. Then I found a setting that changed the default navigation point from the boundary to the center point of the zone. That solved the problem that I would think I was right on top of a navigation point when I was really just outside of the boundaries.
With those setting changes I tried again, but this time I also did a bit if running in circles, looking like a crazy person... and success, I had everything I needed to make the stew. I got lucky at the fishing and caught five straight. I didn't have a pen so I made up a little chant to help me remember the recipe and I got it on the first try. Then off to find the cache.
This was a lot of fun and now that I've figured out how to set up the app, I'm looking forward to trying some more Whereigo caches.
