Another amazing geocaching adventure is behind me, this time enriched by a truly special occasion – a GIGA event - **25 Years of Geocaching – Prague 2025**! This was my second event of this scale, and once again, it took place in the picturesque city of Prague. It’s been three years since my last visit, so I returned to this beautiful city with even more excitement. Over several intense days, we had the chance to explore the streets of the Czech capital, discovering new caches (and labs) and enjoying every single find.
A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to the event organizers and cache owners – the amount of work put into making this event happen was truly impressive. Events like this are not only a great opportunity to find lots of caches, but also a perfect chance to meet fellow geocaching enthusiasts from all around the world.
The location itself was an extra highlight – Prague, along with the charming little towns we passed along the way, once again enchanted me with its beauty, atmospheric streets, and unique character. I'm really glad I got to visit it again on the occasion of such an extraordinary event.
Day one of our trip – we picked up some caches and labs along the way to Prague, mostly quick drive-ins. We also made a short stop in Jičín, and finished the day with an evening walk through the atmospheric center of Prague.
Day two – caching and lab adventures in the heart of Prague, especially around the Old Town. We explored the northern part of Hradčany, crossed the iconic Charles Bridge, and visited the GIGA event grounds. There we celebrated Switch Blue Day and found a huge number of lab caches popping up like mushrooms after rain.
Day three – the big day: attending the GIGA event! Unfortunately, server issues arose – clearly, the 25th anniversary of Geocaching brought in a massive crowd, which was noticeable in the app’s performance. In the evening, we enjoyed a riverside walk along the Vltava and picked up a few more caches.
Day four and final day – we started early with a morning cache hunt in Vrch Vítkov park, and then hit the road home. On the way, we visited the lovely town of Kolín and stopped by several service areas (MOPs) in Poland for some last quick finds.

Pekna prochazka a poutavy pribeh, spolecny odlov s Herry Poter, trochu nas potrapila alchymisticka dilna s lektvarem, take jsme meli potize s pameti :-))).

Tohle pěkné Wherigo jsme šli nadvakrát. První část jsme absolvovali ve studeném větru a tak se nám nechtělo pokračovat. Dnes jsme dokončili zbytek a došli si pro finálku. Díky

Hru jsem odehrál v jednom mrazivém zimním večeru. Hra mě bavila, zejména na schodech, několikrát tam a zpět se člověk pěkně zahřál. Na finále jsem se ale potmě nějak neodvážil, tak k odlovu kešky samotné došlo až dnes. Díky, bylo to moc fajn. 🙂

Na tohle wherigo koukám dlouho, ale tušil jsem, že to bude na dýl a nikdy jsem se k tomu neodhodlal. Teď jsem si ale řekl, že je načase s tím něco udělat a rozhodl jsem se, že na dvakrát to přece musím dát. Vypadá to, že je to přesně měsíc, když jsem se na akci vydal poprvé. Bylo krásný sluníčko, ale pořád ještě mrzlo. Začátek odsejpal pěkně, pak jsem se ale zasekl na schodech a musel jsem si je dát ještě jednou. Prošel jsem až do dílny Tadeáše z Hájku, kde jsem vypadával ze zóny, než jsem se s ním vykecal, takže jsem se tam trochu motal a už mi byla zima, tak jsem to pro ten den zabalil.
Dneska prší, tak ideální návštěva Hradu, to se tam nebude motat moc turistů. Napřed jsem prošel tajemnými paprsky pana Rentgena a šup do alchymistovy dílny. Nečekal jsem, že dneska ještě budu mít tolik práce (zase jsem se tam na chvíli zasekl s tou formulí, co už jsem se s ní trápil na schodech), ale nakonec jsem se zdárně dostal až ke svýmu cíli...
Dostal jsem se i ke kešce, ale teď se teprve objevila ta největší výzva. V cestě mi stál plot. Doopravdickej. V tom mokrým křoví konečně začalo dobrodružství. Plot všude dokola, nenapadlo mě, že tam vede normální cesta. Keška ale byla nadosah. No tak jsem ten plot přelezl a bylo.
Díky za krásný wherigo, fakt vymakaný. Vždycky obdivuju, jak někdo dokáže dát takhle dohromady ten příběh.
