The Arena. It's You versus The Gorn

About This Cartridge

This cartridge takes place at Vasquez Rocks Park and recreates the famous Startrek episode, "The Arena." The 2 mile hike follows several side paths and a dry creek bed. Some moderate rock scrambling is involved.

This cartridge is in beta-form at the moment. The "zones" are extremely wide and will get smaller once I get more accurate readings.

Please post any technical comments, errors, improvements, etc in the forums.

Starting Location

A dusty barren planet somewhere in the Cestus system aka The Vasquez Rocks main parking lot.

This is my first wherigo so I did it on the emulator in the wherigo builder. Cool nostalga to go through on of my favorite episodes of star trek. I'm from Victoria, BC so it is unlikely I would be able to go on scene, but that would be very cool. The only frustrating part is even though I know what to do next (basically), I didn't know how to go about doing it.

I was disappointed to see this was not on the geocaching.com page as well. This looks like a fun one that many more people would enjoy.

TickBait1961 and I ran out of time the first time we did this - I didn't follow the Oracle's wisdom. So we came back this evening and completed the adventure. What a blast!

However, after retrieveing the unlock code, we still seem to be unable to close the loop. Will email the builder for help. In any event we had a great time.

I played this one in the emulator as part of learning process to start creating my own Wherigo caches. Wow, it's clear that this cartridge took some time to design. Nice job!

An excellent cartridge.
I live in Northern Ontario and (unfortunely) had to play it in the emulator.
