About This Cartridge

Enjoy a scenic walk as you interact with and collect things that you see along the way. There is a geocache to find at the end of the journey.

This should be an easy cartridge to complete, but remember to be observant as you move from one location to the next otherwise you may miss something (virtual or real-life) that you need.

This is my first wherigo cartridge. It was tested with a Garmin Oregon 550. I welcome any feedback or suggestions you have.

When you have completed the cartridge, please remember to save so that you can unlock the cartridge on the wherigo site.

Geocache listing: (visit link)

Starting Location

Sanford Riverwalk near Veterans Memorial Park

This was my first wherigo cache. We had a great time doing this. It was the perfect learning experience!. Since this is my first wherigo I don't have anything to compare it to other than the tutorial on my GPS. It played out just like the tutorial and I am excited to try another one. Thanks very much for putting this wherigo cache together! The cache box is there and in great shape. It needs a pencil or pen though.

My three sons and I thought we completed this but didn't find a cache anywhere. We weren't really sure if there was one since the game on the GPS seemed to be over. Plus it was a bad place to lose focus on my six year olds - lots of cars around. We may go back and try to find the cache another time. This was our first wherigo adventure so we had fun anyway. :)

Thanks for the nice walk in Sanford.

Did some geocaching with Itchyfeet2wander today throughout Seminole county. This was the 1st of 6 cache types we found today...thanks in part to this Wherigo cache, IF2W was able to complete my Busy Day challenge by finding 6 cache types: Wherigo, Traditional, Mystery, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual and Multi caches.

I've done a few of the caches in this area on previous visits to the area...at the time this Wherigo didn't exist. Thanks for bringing me back to the area. I remember taking a ride on the riverboat many years ago...was nice to visit the location again and bring back fond memories.

Although I had zero problems with this Wherigo, IF2W did have an issue saving it mid-game and we decided to finish with only my GPS rather than starting over. I'm assuming it was an issue with their GPS since we were both using Colorado 400t models. Perhaps their firmware hasn't been updated in a while...I'll have to confirm what version they're one...I know mine is 1 revision behind the current production firmware (since I have no interest in the new Birdseye mapping)...theirs is probably a few revisions behind mine.

Really enjoyed this cartridge!! Similar to what I have planned for my 2nd Wherigo to be placed in Daytona Beach soon. You would laugh at how basic my 1st cartridge was. LOL

Thanks for the adventure!!

We had fun walking around that area of Sanford. One of our daughters got married on the Riverboat, and we stayed at the hotel. I never knew they put a river walk back there!

We had to do the Garmin dance a few times but I think it was because it was overcast today, but the cartridge ran smoothly otherwise. I save it a few times just in case my battery went dead, but that was unnecessary, as well. Our favorite part was the Apple tree. I thoroughly enjoyed munching on an apple in the middle of the wherigo! Who'da thunk it?

We would recommend it to anyone who has access to a wherigo, and for once, I did not need special clothing to complete it! Thanks for the fun Hiddenrock! I look forward to your future wherigos because you are so computer literate, I am sure they will be even more interactive and fun. We did , indeed, sign the logsheet!

After finding a place to park and jumping out of the Tahoe I was thinking I shouldn't be doing this cache this morning... 45 degrees and a stiff wind coming off the lake. But, after walking to the first couple of zones I was warming up and was able to get out of the wind for a little while.

This was a fun Wherigo to do, a lot of interaction and questions... I like this cart. Found all the zones without any problems until I got to the key and found out I shouldn't have had that snack along the way, good thing there was another tree nearby so I was quickly back on track... One of the most interesting "Wishing Wells" I have seen. Continued my walk around the area picking up a couple more zones than off to the final. Took me awhile to find the cache, actually found a cane pole hanging out near GZ. Took a break and looked over the area than walked right up to the cache.

I used an Oregon 400T and experienced no problems with the cart. Saved each zone as I went along, just to be sure. Thanks for taking the time to put this cart together, nicely done.
