Before leaving Lincoln, I wanted to do a few of these alphabet Wherigo caches. The letter “f” was the first cartridge that I successfully completed. The cartridge ran just fine.

On our way home, MMCachers said she wanted to do a Whereigo, so we swung through this area. Our intention was to do one, but we ended up looking for two. This was the first time I had equipment (and an app) that would allow me to do a Whereigo, so we both had our phones out and, after a bit of confusion and difficulty getting things to work together on my part, we each had our confirmations and headed for the two containers to SL. The road didn't look great, so we parked at the top and walked down the hill and up to GZ, found the first container, then walked down a bit further for the second container. At this cache, I headed a bit south of GZ; she walked right up to the cache hiding spot, saw it and, as I approached her and finally spotted it, I realized a snake would have bitten me twice by the time I'd have noticed it. Ah, well. We SL, returned the container as found, and were heading back up the hill when a Blazer drove by and went straight into the mud and water and became stuck. As we walked up the hill we could hear tires spinning, mud splattering, and the vehicle getting further into the muck. We didn't leave; they might need help. I wasn't interested in getting covered with mud and my phone battery was close to dying, but we could still give them a ride or call for help if they wanted it. After a few suggestions and an offer of a ride or assistance, he called a friend for a rope and a truck and we left. Lots of time spent accomplishing nothing. Apparently, he told MMCachers he just bought new tires and "wanted to try them out." What?!
