About This Cartridge
These are your parking coords: (N42 31.570 W083 04.579). There are many parking spots available at this location. Now for a quick history of the Charles Halmich family. After their immigration from Germany to America in 1851, the Halmich family owned several farms in and around Warren. The largest portion of what is now Halmich Park was a cattle farm owned by the Charles Halmich family. The property was sold to the Township of Warren in 1956 to become a city park instead of the airport proposed by the city of Detroit. The largest city park in Warren was named for Norman J. Halmich, an active member of the community, serving as Postmaster, Village President, storekeeper and the first commercial sod farmer. As a member of the St. Anne's Parish, Mr. Halmich donated 10 acres of his property on Mound Rd. in 1945 for the future Parish. To complete this Wherigo you will be asked questions about the area. You will need to answer these questions correctly to advance to the next zone.

This tour is a lot of fun! It takes you all over the park, while allowing you to grab other geocaches and learn a bunch about the park’s history! Perfect activity for a nice afternoon. Duration: 1-2 hrs

Did this Halmich tour today. It was our first Wherigo attempted and everything went without any problems.
Used an LG Android smartphone with the WhereYouGo app. Very good job on this. It was fun!

Thanks to a fellow geocacher we were able to log our completion of the Halmich Walking Tour. We also had trouble entering the confirmation code we were given at the Final location. Backed it off one-number-at-a-time as suggested and got the Congratulations trophy! Thanks scrapcat!
Nice park....enjoyed getting out and walking the trails.
