Had this on my to do list for many years. Not sure what possessed me to go out and hike Deem Hills today in the August heat. I had plenty of water and made the hike in back in about 1.5 hrs. Interesting Whereigo stopping along the trail to check out the flora. I am not as good a hiker as Corfman Clan but I held my own today. It was surely a good work out. Thanks Corfman Clan for placing this cache.

Today, we took a break from the Seven Summits Whereigo to do a few Deem Hills caches. We started with this one and wandered our way up to the top of the hill following the waypoints. We were on our way to the barrel cactus when we saw a Gila monster right on the trail in front of us. We thought it was made of plastic at first, but then it moved! Aaaah! A real Gila monster!!! We watched it slowly work its way into the bushes and then we went on to complete the tour, signing the log sheet at the end. The walk was great and seeing the Gila monster was an unexpected bonus. TFTC!

We started playing this Wherigo cartridge on Thanksgiving Day and finished it during a short, cloudy afternoon hike in early February. We even felt a few sprinkles on our way back to the car! We also observed some winter visitors on our way up the hill from the parking lot off 39th Av.; a flock of black-throated sparrows. Although we didn't see the information cards on the flora, we were already familiar with all the plants having lived in the desert for 26+ years. Thanks, Corfman Clan, for setting up this fun Wherigo!

Really beautiful hike on a great day. Thanks for putting this together. Very sneaky hide. NOTE: Cache has been commandeered by a packrat as one wall of his condo. Watch out for cactus pads used as his building material and try not to disturb the construction. Cache is in good shape. Took a squirtgun, left a knight. TFTH!
