This Wherigo cache has been placed for the duration of the first South African Mega Event. This cache will remain after the Mega to be enjoyed by all geocachers. This cache has been placed with the kind permission of Voortrekker Monument Heritage Site. Please take care of the surrounding environment as this is a Nature Reserve.
It is a short walk through the beautiful gardens around the Voortrekker Monument, that combines some Afrikaner history with an exciting geocaching adventure.
You will journey with some historical characters and a few fictional characters, whilst experiencing what those travellers would have been through at the time.

LOVED doing this Wherigo!!! Thank you so much for taking us on this journey!!! Sound effects were also awesome. Cache still safe and sound even though a lot of garden clean up is happening.

As I just arrived today in South Africa I took the chance that I had the rest of the day free to search for some geocaches. This nice small Wherigo was the first one. All stages were good to find so it went pretty smooth. Only the questions before the final coordinates took a while till I had all the correct answers. The final container was again a quick find.

Used the pubic holiday to find some new caches and learn some South African history. Our first attempt at a Wherigo - thoroughly enjoyed once we got the hang of it!

This WIG was no easy task for me.
The first WIG, done by ourself, and my english is not really the best.
Because of this, FüütMann has had much to laugh, while i was fighting with the GPS and reading the story.
But at least we found the Voortrekker Treasure!
