So the family and I went after this cache yesterday and son, Superspike, completes the run in 13 minutes flat, according to his watch/timer. But the coords did not show up on the GPS. Nor on the chase group's iPhone. We realized our mistake, that we needed to push an OK button after crossing the start line, and decide to walk/run it again (minus wife and daughter) completed in less than 30 minutes and claim our smiley. Later that day, the CO sends an email allowing us to claim the less than 15 minutes (Gold) smiley as well. Very gracious considering it was our own inability to follow directions that caused our problem... But we will take it! Thanx so much! I had planned to bike the course (cheat) to claim the gold cache today, but you saved me the trouble. Instead I returned with wife and daughter (no SuperSpike, he was not feeling well) and the geo dogs, Jack and Jill. We all enjoyed a nice leisurely stroll around the lake. We picked up 3 more caches plus the OGL 1.5 Whereigo Gold cache. I have to claim cheat status of 13 minutes, as it was my son that ran that time , not me. Thanx for bringing us back out to this wonderful park. It's gonna be a regular thing for us.

I wanted to run right out and try this one when it was first published, but this morning was my first opportunity. Decided to take the whole family: myself, SpikeswifehatestoGC, Logielime and Superspike. We used a Garmin Colorado and a couple iPhones. Found the warm up area no problem. We crossed the start line and the gps's said we were" on the clock, GO!" So we went. We gave SuperSpike the Garmin and let him go. The rest of us walked/ran behind him. As we rounded the 1 mile mark, Super texted me that he finished in 13 minutes even...but no coords(???) . The rest of us finished in under 30 mins. But still nothing on the gps or iPhones. We re read the cache page. Apparanly, when we got the cue that we were "on the clock, GO!" We forgot to push OK. ( it worked much better the second time around) Me and Super walked/ran again while the girls went and got a coffee. Our official time was 1074 seconds ( 17.9 minutes) Walked to the cache and found just as my GPS's batteries died. Dropped a TB. Great idea for a cache/Whereigo. And it worked great ( just make sure to follow the directions). This is my third WIG. My sights are now set on the Heritage. Thanx
