A walk in the wilds of the Chassahowitzka floodplain. A journey of about 8 miles roundtrip. Swamps and forests, salt marshes and springs.
This is the companion cart to the geocache GC45VMG. NOT accessible October 15 to Feb 15 each year, seasonal trail closure.
In dry late winter and early spring months, it may be possible to keep your feet dry throughout.
About This Cartridge
The slim chance of seeing a Whooping Crane, and the good chance of finding a cache. Zones are far apart, please save your game each time you trigger a new zone.
Cart was tested on a Garmin Oregon, and an Android tablet. Zones are a compromise on size. Big enough to allow the poorer gps units to trigger without sending you into the swamp, but small enough that you should be able to see the critical feature. If you're being sent into the water, wait and let your unit settle, zones are on some kind of berm or elevation.
Written on Earwigo, resists the emulator.
A side trail leaves the main two track here, heading south. This is about .7 miles NW from the parking (parking coords on cache listing). You need to locate this and go south. Water crossing shortly. It's worth the effort to keep your feet dry here.

I walked this again today, wanted to be sure that the cart worked. I modified it a hair before uploading, altered some zone sizes a bit after the last walk.
It worked fine on a Garmin Oregon, and on an Android tablet.
I'd hate to do the cart with only the lousy gps that's in that tablet. It did okay on the first 4 zones, but was it tough on the last two, getting it triggered.
