I have been meaning to do this cache for the longest time, but I suspected it would take ages to complete and I just never had that much free time. Today I had a rare day off and a desperate need for exercise so I decided it was time.

I would describe myself as a video game aficionado, although I haven't actually played the Wasteland series. I'm not sure if this gave me any advantages, in fact it may have been a disadvantage because I expected certain things to occur which didn't, probably because of the limitations of a Wherigo cartridge.

In total, it took about 4 hours, considerably longer than the cache page predicts probably because I kept accidentally visiting things in the wrong order and being distracted by all the charming birds and squirrels.

I almost had a disaster at a point when I needed to upgrade my weapon, but I had spent just slightly too much money on buying a burrito I didn't even end up eating. I had to backtrack to sell an item to make up the difference.

I also failed to realise that it is not sufficient to search some rubble for an item, you actually have to pick up the item separately afterwards... that required another bit of backtracking.

I was amazed by my own skills in first aid, at the end I must have been wrapped head-to-toe in bandages holding the disconnected pieces of my body together.

The final cache was an easy find with the helpful hint. Many thanks for this adventure which must have taken so much effort to assemble.

This was our first Wherigo, or at least the first we have completed (some technical trouble prevented us starting one in Southampton years ago, which put us off trying any others for a long time). We started around 2pm one Saturday and after some initial uncertainty about how to play, we got the knack of it and completed it by about 6pm. There was a lot of crazy to and fro in the park and we covered quite some distance in all. Lucky we were playing off two devices simultaneously because despite doing things the same (and correctly outwitting several traps), one of us died inexplicably while we stood side-by-side in what should have been safety. This was right at the end of the game so there is no way we would have re-started at that point and probably wouldn’t have tried any more Wherigos either, so it was lucky we could complete the last bits from the remaining device. Apart from that it was good fun, a very enjoyable Saturday. Clearly a lot of work went into this, which is really impressive. Thanks for a fun game!

An incredible, frustrating, ludicrous, immersive experience! Thanks for all the hard work that must have gone into creating this.
