Three Stars is taking its annual Thanksgiving trip to the Okanagan Valley again. This time we stayed in the Kelowna area for a few days before heading into the Kootenay Mountains. We arrived on Friday in Summerland where we stayed until Monday, as "Papa" Star had the ingenious idea to participate in the Kettle Mettle Bike Race/Ride from Penticton to Kelowna (100 km) on Saturday. Never really trained during the whole summer he almost killed himself during the 8 hours in the saddle, but he finished. So the rest of the week was spent in Hot tubs and doing non high physical activities. Finding some geocaches fit right into the recovery program.
Moving from Summerland to Lake Country on Monday, we also had to bring the bike to Kelowna Bicycle for some much needed repair. We had some WhereIgo's targeted in the area and this one was almost around the corner. So we got there and got going. "Papa" Star was able to engage Little Star Sascha in the game to go and look for the various stations within the display, so the two of them were chasing around while "Mami" Star was taking some pictures. Finished and found the physical container after about 20 - 30 minutes and signed the log after getting our compass bearings straight at GZ. Then the phone rang and we were told the bike was already fixed. Awesome, so we didn't have to come back on Tuesday, but rather returned to the store to pick it up. What a awesome way to spend the time while your bike gets fixed.
