A very nice tour of the Portland Freedom trail! Had no issues with part A except a wrong answer which really is nearer to the real answer, but I was able to correct & move to part B. Part B was flying along but ran into a problem when I re-entered a zone of a previous answer to get to another one. Well that really messed stuff up & when I got to the end it said I needed to visit & re-answer two parts again. Took a beer lunch break at grittys then went back, making sure I missed all the areas I had so it wouldn't happen again. Good thing I was using both the iPhone wherigo app along with the Oregon one, as for some reason it wouldn't move past on the Oregon. However on the iPhone one I revisited re-entered the answers it gave me the final coords! Made quick find. A great wherigo, even with the two tricky spots & questionable answers for some. Make sure you never re-enter a previous area!!!

This was the first Wherigo I've done. Did it with my Brother-in-law on a nice sunny saturday afternoon. Took us for a nice walk around Portland. Thank you for the cache! It has given me some ideas for creating one at home in Syracuse.

This was our first Wherigo. We played it while in Portland on the last day of our cruise. We didn't even know there was a Portland Freedom Trail until I was looking at the Wherigo website.

We had a little trouble with the GPS locking up at the Thomas Home (can't remember what stop # it is). It went into a loop and wouldn't let us advance. I had to end up turning the GPS off and back on. After that everything went well.

Thanks for a fun day, even though we froze in the cold wind.

In Portland for the afternoon to catch a ferry the next day. What a great treat to have a tour guide cartridge. I have made a few cartridges myself. This one could be lots of fun and thanks for taking us around the city. I think it is a little over kill with all the questions and the split cartridges. In fact the questions at each zone got progressively more mind numbing that I was getting a little crabby and didn’t pay attention on question #12 (I didn’t know it was this question at the time) and missed it so at the end I didn’t get the completion or the cache coords. No worry, I just hacked in the file and quickly found the answers (yellow? we saw red). I think this cartridge goes overboard trying to stop armchair completions. Why go through all this just to stop people from logging a find or completion, if they want to hack the file and get the cheat codes, let them , what do they get out of it? Nothing. As you can see, I did it quickly. We loved the tour and the city.
For the CW:
1) I downloaded both cartridges from the web site and the second download tried to overwrite the first. Had to rename.
2) I saved the cartridge then turned the Colorado off while eating dinner and when I tried to resume it crashed. Gave an error cannot remember what. However, I had to start over again. As an experiment, I saved and closed the wherigo but kept the Colorado on and it did resume.
3) Zone 11 question has a confusing blurb about the railing
4) Zone in part A (cannot remember which) ask about a colored number. There is a no green 2 and no black 11. There is a green 11 and a green one patch that looks like it could have once been a green two.
5) At the end it showed we did not answer zone 11 but did give us a check answer. A little confused and I thought this was why we did not get the completion. It was not we had a wrong answer.
I hope the CW does not take this the wrong way because I would want to know about bugs in my programs and I really think all the questions distract from the goal of this cartridge. I mean seriously, what it is about. The freedom trail or the “No parking” sign. Sent completion.
