Captain Terror and I were in Cairns for some caching and decided to drop in on this one.

Awww - no favourites on the poor Wherigo? I know how hard these things are to set up. It's a shame that Groundspeak don't expand this idea more.

We set about collecting the clues. A few times we were left scratching our heads - as the program didn't do anything when arriving at the WPs. My Mio P550 (Pocket PC) played this cartridge quite well - Captain Terror's Garmin was not so flash. But we sorted it.

We eventually were rewarded with the location of the final and made our way there. Captain Terror, who had never been so far north, found some more exotic animals (aka ants) at GZ to be friends with The cache was in good condition. With it signed, we returned it to its home and made off.

Each 100 caches, I try to make it a little bit of a milestone - so I am calling this one my 5600th cache Good on you, walterhellmut, for making such a cache up here in Cairns. I appreciate the effort you must have gone to to make it. TFTC

Treking around Centenary Lakes with Skibeagle163 attempting Cairns' only Wherigo cache.
A nice early morning walk had us meandering along paths, observing natural features and answering questions about what we had observed.
Met several other talkative locals who were keen to enquire what we were doing as at times we appeared to be walking in small circles searching for satellite reception.
I'd estimate the to work through the Wherigo cache takes approximately 30 minutes, but you could spend much longer being distracted by the surrounding flora and fauna.
We used a GPS enabled smart-phone, but I read in Walter's cache description, that it you have a Wherigo capable GPS unit, he can forward you a more detailed cassette of data for you to download.
We found the cache in a flood safe position.
Thanks Walter for taking the time to develop this Wherigo Cache. Hopefully your expertise in this style of cache will grow and further Wherigo caches will follow.

This was a great walk around the park. Whilst completing this cartridge, I learnt some very interesting things and enjoyed some great views whilst meandering along the path. I have lived in Cairns for the past eleven years and had not seen some of the things that I saw on this trip. I recommend this trip to everyone and just remember to take the mosquito spray. Early in the morning or late in the evening would be the best time of the day to enjoy this one.
